A Little Background…

I've always been passionate about two things: art and food—both of which bring comfort and should coexist. As a creative spirit, I’ve always loved experimenting with flavors I enjoy, developing new techniques to create something fresh and exciting for the palate. I’ve always had a deep hunger, not just for food, but for the pleasure of engaging in the scientific and artistic process of cooking. To me, recipe-building is a deeply personal and unique expression, one that connects us all. The cultural context behind recipes—their purpose, social significance, and history—adds layers of depth, offering endless opportunities to explore new dishes and perspectives.

I started Hearty Bite in 2019, just before the pandemic, driven by a passion for food. At first, I immersed myself in recipe development through YouTube videos, chef documentaries, an ever-growing stack of cookbooks and magazines, cooking classes here and there, and countless attempts (and failures) at egg poaching. After taking some time away, I recently rediscovered a passion I had long neglected in the practice of adulting: art. And what better way to reignite that spark than by merging it with my love for food?

Through this platform, I’ll be sharing some of my favorite dishes—ones inspired by my childhood, my relationships, and the reflections of everyday life, all viewed through a creative lens. There’s no diet or cuisine I’m not curious about :).
